Waffle House #1319 @ 8635 Hankins Road, Charlotte, NC (Off Harris Boulevard)
First let me say, I really like Waffle House food.  Best cheeseburger around and love me some hash-browns.  There was a time in my life when I had WH on speed dial (yes, take out is available).  WH is open 24 hours so I don’t expect to be able to eat off the floors.  That being said, my visit on Saturday, July 6, 2013 was shocking.
Ceiling vents had such a coat of dust they looked furry.  I could see dirt and grime on vertical blinds across the store.  Trash on floor in cooking/food prep area.  I could see hair sticking to legs of chairs.
I observed a waitress taking a bottle of syrup to a customer.  It was so sticky with syrup she was holding it with only her finger and thumb, yet she gave it to the customer that way.  Another gentleman had to get up and start behind the counter to get his own syrup because up until this point he had been ignored by his waitress.
Several waitresses were standing/leaning against counters chatting like they were all on break.  I counted; get this, NINE people on duty.  Staggering, considering the poor cleanliness and customer service.  Oh, did I mention the curse words echoing from behind the counter, so glad my daughter was not with me.
OK, food was good, granted, although all things considered, a little hard to swallow.

Blue Mist BBQ in Franklinville, NC

This was contributed by "Deputized Nazi" David:  The NASTIEST Restaurant I have ever been in. Ceiling tiles that had been wet and were falling through, stained ceiling tiles, filthy register vents and returns, MOLD growing on the ceilings and walls, mystery stains on the tables and on the floors, bug droppings and dead bugs behind the counter. Freaking NASTY! Did not eat, stayed less than 2 minutes, suddenly got a "phone call" and hauled tail out of there!

Wendy's @ Northlake Center, Charlotte, NC

Went in today at approximately 5:20.  Service/food was acceptable.  Condiment counter needed to be wiped down and the sweet tea urn was totally empty.  I also took some photos (I had the theme song from Mission Impossible playing in my head as I snapped these).

There is no excuse for this.  The store
was NOT BUSY.  This is the food prep
area and should always be clean.

Ladies room behind toilet.
Not the best mop job in the world

Ceiling vent in ladies room.
These should be cleaned on a more regular basis.

What this is all about...

I admit, I love fast food.  Burgers, fries, shakes love it!  What I hate is lack of  consistency among fast food chains.  For example, my cheeseburger should taste the same at ABC Store in any part of the US, but that is not the case.  I should, at the very least, get cordial customer service, but that is not the case.  The establishment should be clean, but that is not the case.

So this is where we correct them.  I have learned from experience that when you call home office, you get the "it is a franchise" song and dance.  So I guess the only way to get things corrected is to go pubic and hit the old pocketbook.  So let's do it.  Let me start.

McDonalds @ Sunset Road and I-77 Charlotte, NC:  Ordered Egg White Delight (which is normally delicious).  This one was not.  It had obviously sat around for some time and was "nuked" when I ordered it.  The edges of the muffin were rock hard.  This was a drive-through order.

McDonalds @ Mt. Holly Huntersville Rd and Highway 16  Charlotte, NC:  Food is always fresh, service is superior, store is spotless.  However, it must be noted that this store is located next to a Chick-Fil-A (the gold standard in quality and service) so this will always force a store to up their game.

I want your contributions.  Use that cell phone camera.  Email your photos, stories to fstfdnazi@gmail.com

Stay tuned...
